As many of you may know, I've been an active supporter of the Big Sleepout for the past 7 years. This year I'm once again putting myself on the concrete under a winter's sky for the night with the other AUT rough sleepers to raise sponsorship for people who have to do this every night. With these as our core values, AUT is proud to once again host The Lifewise Big Sleepout – to boost awareness of the awful grind of homelessness and raise money to support the work that will eliminate it from our society.
We are also proud of our staff who take part – raising sponsorship by sleeping outside on a winter’s night. No, it’s not true rough sleeping, but the experience – and spending time with people who’ve done it for real – does give genuine insight. That’s why many do it year after year – it’s compelling.
